Karri (Eucalyptus diversicolour)
Native hardwood harvested commercially in south west Western Australia. The Karri tree is one of Australia’s tallest eucalypts in mainly pure stands with strong, hard red to reddish brown heartwood. A very good engineering timber used for high quality furniture, flooring, decking and high grade pulpwood. |

Manna Gum (Eucalyptus viminalis)
Native and planted hardwood harvested commercially in Victoria and Tasmania. (Note: In Tasmania the common name is White gum). Used for flooring, house framing furniture and general construction. It often exhibits significant gum vein which, in the past, was regarded as an undesirable characteristic. It is finding greater use in appearance grade products such as flooring, furniture and panelling where such defects become a feature of the product.

Maritime pine (Pinus pinaster)
Planted softwood harvested commercially in Western Australia and mainly originating from Portugal. This is a hardy pine species established in lower rainfall areas and sandy landscapes, is genetically improved and widely planted. The timber is used in sawn products, panelling, internal construction, laminated veneer lumber (LVL), particleboard and case wood. |

Marri (Corymbia calophylia)
Native hardwood harvested commercially from the south west forests in Western Australia. It is a member of the bloodwood family and has a colour ranging from pale yellow to light brown It is a strong, durable with a high occurrence of gum veins. It is widely used as a natural feature grade timber in furniture, flooring and panelling. |

Messmate Stringybark (Eucalyptus obliqua)
Native hardwood harvested commercially in New South Wales, Tasmania and Victoria. (Note: In Tasmania the common name is Brown top stringybark.) Used widely in general construction, furniture, veneers, flooring and panelling. It also produced high grade paper pulp. |

Mountain Ash (Eucalyptus regnans)
Native hardwood harvested commercially in Tasmania and Victoria. (Note: In Tasmania the common name is Swamp gum or Stringy gum). The timber ranges in colour from pale straw to rich mid brown and is relatively easy to kiln dry and takes stains readily. It is used in house framing, flooring, moulded timber products, stairs, furniture, veneers, fencing, pallets and pulpwood. |
